Complete genomic cloning and sequence analysis of PCV2 isolates from pigs with PMWS in different geographic regions of Zhejiang Province
|
Abstract:
Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome(PMWS) is an emerging disease in swine herds worldwide.Increasing evidence indicates that porcine circovirus type 2(PCV2) is responsible for PMWS.In this study, the complete genome of two PCV2 isolates,JS2003 and Zhuji2003,from two swine farms associated with PMWS in Zhejiang Province were amplified and sequenced.Sequence analysis indicated that the both isolates were 1767 nt in length and shared 98.6% nucleotide sequence identities. Moreover, they displayed 94.8% to 99.8% nucleotide homology with other 24 PCV2 isolates in GenBank and 76.5% to 78.0% nucleotide homology with four PCV1 isolates. The data also indicate that, although the genome of PCV2 is relatively stable in general, minor genetic differences do exist among PCV2 isolates from different geographical regions.
