Quantitative relationship between water supply level and leaf water potential (LWP) in rice.
|
Abstract:
The investigation was mainly conducted to study the effect of water supply level on leaf water potential(LWP) of rice. Results of the experiments revealed some useful quantitative relations between them. And the relations between temperature, illumination, water level and LWP in the different growth periods of rice were also established. With the concluded quantitative relations between LWP and environmental ingredients, the value of the LWP can be calculated under the different circumstance. So we could get the LWP value more easily and detect the water status of the plant more quickly and punctually. In this study,we also found the critical point of LWP of the two varieties of rice-Zhong 9B & Jinzao 47 in the three main growth stages, which is an important factor for diagnosing whether the plant is suffering water stress or not.So it could be used for irrigating rice crop more punctually and economically.
