走向世界是时代赋予中国人的历史使命,晚清时期初出国门的外交官以"百闻不如一见,耳闻不如目睹"的切身感受,记录了对西方教育的观察和考量,这些认识尽管不免肤浅,甚或谬误,但为后人留下了研究异域教育的最初文本,在中西教育交流史上留下了自己的印记.
