Abstract:

Queens of three strains of western bees(Apis mellifera carnica,A.m.caucasica and PINGHU A.m.ligustica) were selected and used as main breeding materials.Three inbreeding lines(A,B and C) were developed by using instrumental insemination through systematic closing group reproduction assisted with RAPD analysis.Two high-yield and Varroa-resistant hybrids,"HYR" and "JYR",were selected on the basis of the three lines.Besides strong Varroa-resistant ability,the two hybrids have the characteristic of high-production of honey and both of honey and royal jelly,respectively.The per colony honey production of the two hybrids and the royal jelly production of "JYR" were 59.40%(P<0.01),32.27%(P<0.01) and 69.95%(P<0.01) higher than those of Chinese Italian bees,respectively.The two hybrids' late-autumn Varroa parasitical ratios were 1.97%(P<0.01) and 2.19%(P<0.01),dramatically lower than those of Chinese Italian bees.
