Abstract:
A rich, abundantly creative ocean of religiosity developed between 4000 BC and 200 AD across large areas of Eurasia. Ideas, art and practices were intensively shared.For historical reasons, contact between the Christianity of the Western end of the cultural corridor and Buddhism at the Eastern end was much reduced from about the 5th to the 15th centuries, and by the time contact was re-established, the two separate religions looked quite different to one another.
