Ma Yin-chu''''s View on Population Quality and Its Practical Significance In Commemoration of His 120th Birthday
|
Abstract:
Emphasizing on the quality of population, Ma Yin chu's thought of population essentially surpasses the Malthusian population theory. Ma Yin chu's point of view mainly maintains that: population quality and population quantity is a unity of opposites; population quality is more important than population quantity in the new age; the improvement on population quality is an overall improvement of the whole nation; the improvement on population quality cannot be separated from the current condition of the country. In the progress of modernization, a review of Ma Yin chu's viewpoints and ideas on population quality improvements may help us appropriately handle the relationships between improving population quality and stabilizing low birthrate, protecting resources and the environment, and raising peasants' income, etc.
