A Brief Exposition of the Suppression of Vagrant Bandits in the Early Southern Song Dynasty

Abstract:
In the early Southern Song Dynasty, vagrant bandits were so rampant that they severely threatened the stability of the newly established goverment, In only a few years, however, they were put down one after another. This thesis first analyzes the emergence of the vagrant bandits as well as their harm to the society, Then it expounds the course of the suppression, the reasons why the government army won the battle and the significance of the victry.
