Ecological rehabilitation effect assessment of soil and water conservation model-A case study of the upper reaches of Liangdang River,Changjiang Basin
|
Abstract:
Ecological rehabilitation models of soil and water conservation combining artificial measures and natural power in the upper reaches of Liangdang River of Changjiang Basin were advanced in accordance with environmental characteristics of the study area. The models include recovery model of deteriorated forests, rehabilitation model of barren mountains and farmlands and ecological support measures. The effect of ecological rehabilitation was assessed using on-the-spot investigation and Remote Sensing methods. Results show significant improvements in degenerated land area of the ecosystem over a relatively short period through natural and artificial restoration measures. Farmland ecosystem rehabilitation is significant, and there is an equally significant improvement in vegetation expansion rate ,forest plant species number. The ecosystem on the whole tends to he vibrantly recovering.
