IN SITU HYBRIDIZATION AND ITS APPLICATION IN STUDIES ON ORYZA

In situ hybridization is one of the most promising methods to identify certain genetic markers on individual chromosomes. To trace the structural evolution course in the genus Oryza, some genes and other detectable molecular markers have been localized at specific chromosomes through this technique. However, reports, especially on the wild species, are still limited. Its applications, e.g., to discriminating and identifying the relationships among different genomes, are still open to be explored.
