Cryptomonads exist in many types of freshwater.Cryptomonas ovata Ehrenberg,Cryptomonas erosa Ehrenberg are the most common species in Chinese reports.In fact,cryptomonads diversity was often overlooked because of the absence of Cryptophyta taxonomic articles in Chinese research,and the reports about cryptomonads may be incorrect.Samples were collected in various areas of Lake Donghu in Wuhan from 2009 to 2010.Eight cryptomonads species belonging to four genera were identified,specifically Cryptomonas ovata ...
