This paper revises the Chinese Phytolacca.This genus has 4 species in China, Phytolacca clavigera W. W.Smith is a new synonym of the Ph. polyandra Batalin. Ph. hunanensis Hand. -Mazz. and Ph. zhejiangensis W. T. Fan are two synonyms of the Ph. japonica Makino. Ph. esquirolii Lvl. is not this generic plant,whereas it is Mallotus millietii Lvl.(Euphorbiaceae).
