Bactericidal and Microbiostatic Test of Fungistatic Agent Extracted from Peganum multisectum Bobr by Alcohol
|
Abstract:
Desert plant,Peganum multisectum(Maxim) Bobr is a perennial herb of Zygophyllaceae. It is found in the bioassay that the fungistatic agent of the alcoholic extracted from the seed of Peganum multisectum had remarkable bactericidal and mycostatic activities on four species of bacteria and nine species of typical plant pathogenic fungi. Our results showed that the bactericidal activity decreased along with the decrease of agent concentration, but increased along with treatment time.Especially, the bactericidal activity of agent was significantly increased to over 90% when treated to Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus vulgarist. When tested by concentration 1:1 of agent,it was shown that the mycostatic activity of agent on Podosphaera leucotricha and sphaerotheca fuliginea was the most significant, which was up to 79.52% and 77.71% respectively. The results showed that desert plant,Peganum multisectum Bobr was a potential plant resource that needs to open and apply.
