The Molecular Mechanism of Vernalization in Plants

Vernalization plays an important role in regulation of flowering time in higher plants.This paper reviews recent advances in the studies of the molecular mechanism of vernalization in Arabidopsis thaliana and wheat (Triticum aestivum), which include the vernalization-related genes, the manner of flowering control by such genes, the relation between these genes and the molecular mechanism of vernalization.
