Plant Transformation Using Pollen as The Vector of Foreign Genes
|
Abstract:
Pollen as the target for gene transfer is a potential plant transformation system which can avoid the problems of somaclonal variation and chimaera resulting from in vitro regeneration. This paper reviewed the research progress related to the use of pollen to introduce foreign gene into the egg cells and offsprings through sexual route and microspore embryogenesis.
