Advances in Studies on Cell Differentiation in Xylem

he current progress of studies on xylem differentiation is described in this paper in four aspects: the system used for experiments on xylem differentiation; induction of xylem differentiation; programmed cell death (PCD) in the xylem; the construction of the secondary wall. The difficult problems in focus are pointed out to arouse interests from other scientists.
