Advances in Research of Eucummia Ulmoides Oliver and Its Utlization

The biological characteristics including its distribution, morphological characters and demanded growth condition of Duzhong (Eucommia ulmoides Oliver), a Chinese traditional antiaging medicinal plant are briefly introduced in this paper. The effective function based on both Chinese traditional and western modem medical knowledge, 8 kinds of effective compositions in Duzhong are described in detail. 19 open patents in China, Japan and UK are listed. Finally, the situation of Duzhong production, approaches to meet the need both in quantity and quality of Duzhong production are discussed.
