Application of Atomic Force Microscope in Plant Biology Research
|
Abstract:
Atomic force microscope (AFM) is a powerful tool for high-resolution imaging of the surface of samples under air or physiological conditions in measurements ranging from pico-Newtons (10-12 N) to micro-Newtons (10-6 N). In this paper, we discuss the potential application of AFM in plant biology research of, for example, macromolecules, organelles, cells, and leaves, and summarize the current limitations of the technique.
