Researches on Stabilty for Surrounding Rock Masses of Underground Power House in the Three Gorges Project

Abstract:
Based on the results of rock mechanics tests and measured stresses, the stability analysis for the surrounding rock masses of underground power house in the Three Gorges Project is carried out by comprehensive methods, such as 2D and 3D FEM analysis, different methods of rock classifications and key block analysis. The stability and necessary support measurements for the house are discussed.
