Design on Excavation and Support of underground Works for the Conveyance System in Permanent Shiplock of Three Gorges Project

Abstract:
The tunnel of conveyance system in the Three Gorges Project permanent shiplock is longs and staggered with well. There are many disturbances in excavation of ground and underground works. By analyzing result of the numerical simulation of excavation procedure, the design principles and method of excavation procedure, determination of system support and geologic defect are expounded. It is proved to be reasonable by practice that the underground works are made before ground works, partial support is used for the tunnel, but system support is used for the well.
