A STUDY OF SIZE EFFECT FOR COMPRESSION STRENGTH OF ROCK
岩石抗压强度的尺寸效应

The size effect of compression strength of rock is discussed based on rock mechanics testing of 7 kinds of rock. An empirical formula for simulation of size effect is obtained from the testing results. The comparison between testing results and empirical curve is satisfactory.
