BELL SOLUTION DETERMINING ULTIMATE BEARING CAPACITY OF HOMOGENEOUS ROCK FOUNDATION UNDER SHEAR FAILURE MODEL

Abstract:
Shear failure is the commonest failure,which often takes place in sound,jointed and weak rock foundation. On the basis of inferring shear parameters of rockmasse with Hoek-Brown strength criterion,the Bell solution is introduced to determine ultimate bearing capacity of homogeneous rock foundation under shear failure,and the method validity is analyzed.
