TESTING STUDY OF NEW METHOD FOR IN-SITU STRESS MEASUREMENT IN SOFT ROCK

Abstract:
A new method is presented to measure the in-situ stresses and disturbed stress field.This method is distinguished from the existing ones with some characters. The value anddirection of stress can be determined directly without overcoring relief and formulationconversion, Only a single borehole is needed to measure in-situ stresses and disturbedones. This method is not affected by electric-magnetic disturbance,and can be used to obtain reliable data in fractured rock masses.The principle of this method,process of simulation test,and analysis of the testing results are described in this paper.
