SEEPAGE ANALYSIS OF THE STRONG PERMEABLE FOUNDATION OF SHIJIAO SEGMENT OF NORTH RIVER LEVEE

Abstract:
Shijiao segment of North River levee was built on the deep and thick strong permeable sandy scree layer. Although many engineering measures such as cutting, pressing and draining, were adopted, dangers still appeared inside the levee during flood season. The boundary between riverbed and step land I is clearly detected through the renewing of topography measurement and geological exploration. An overall recognition of the entire seepage field is provided by the interpretation and analysis of the piezometer data The result drawn by the analysis and calculation of two directional horizontal seepage by finite element method shows the overall actual seepage state and declares the dangerous areas and causes, which can be valuable references to other consolidation engineering.
