This paper summaries the current study status of PIT-1 gene,which is the candidate gene for growth and development performance.The review mainly includes the association of PIT-1 gene with dwarfism in mice,CPHD in humans and growth and carcass traits in pigs.The research prospect of PIT-1 gene in mini-pig is also discussed.
