Study on the Genetic Resistance of Maize to Pythium inflatum Matthews
|
Abstract:
Based on the identiflcation of resistance, six inbreds with defferent degrees of resistance wereused in the inheritance experiment designed by a complete diallel cross. Genetic study on maize resistanceto Pythium infiatum Matthews was carried out. The results showed for the flrst timc that different maizeinbreds may have different genetic patterns in resistance to Pythium inflatum Matthews. Some inbredsshowed charateristics of quantitative inheritance, while some inbreds showed characteristics of qualitativeinheritance. Resistance based on quantitative innheritance was mainly controlled by additive genes.
