Characteristics and significance of rare earth elements in quartz of Sidaogou hydrothermal gold deposit, Liaoning.
|
Abstract:
The rare earth elements in quartz and fluid inclusions from the Sidaogou Gold Deposit, Liaoning were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP MS). The result shows that the REE pattern of quartz is similar to that of fluid inclusions. The REE in quartz are concentrated in fluid inclusions, and the REE pattern of the fluid inclusions shapes the REE pattern of the quartz in which it occurs. The primary inclusions are affinal to quartz, and the characteristics of REE in them should represent the characteristics of quartz forming fluid. Whereas the formation of the secondary inclusions is later than the crystallizing of quartz, and the REE in them will give out the information of late stage hydrothermal solution. Careful examination of fluid inclusion in gold bearing quartz vein of Sidaogou gold deposit reveals that the primary pseudo secondary inclusions in quartz vein are dominant, therefore, the REE parttern of gold bearing quartz veins represents the REE pattern of ore forming fluid of Sidaogou gold deposit.
