A Study of Relationship between Fractal Structure Factor of REE Pattern and Other Chemical Components of Cenozoic Basalts in Eastern China

A new method for fractal structure factor (FSF) of REE pattern is suggested in the paper. The FSF values of REE pattern in Cenozoic basalts in eastern China are calculated, the relationship between these FSF values and major elemens, rare-earth elemens, and isotopes are studied, and relative parameters are obtained. The contents of major elements and rare-earth elements for both members of basalt are calculated from these parameters. It is suggested that the Wudalienci basalt may be related to partial melting of K2O-rich metasomatic mantle and other basalts to partial melting of asthenospheric mantle or lithospheric mantle. The isotopic ratios in the basalt are restricted not only by the characteristics of the mantle providing primary magma of basalt,but also by partial melting degree of the mantle.
