MINERALOGIC STUDY ON CRETACEOUS KAOLINITE MINERAL DEPOSIT OF THE SOUTHEAST ROMANIA
|
Abstract:
Mineralogic stuty on Cretaceous kaolinite deposit of the southeast Romania was carried out systimatically. From chemical analyses,X-raydiffrection,infrared spectra, differential thermal curves and scanning electrical microscopy we recognized that the mineral deposit is mainly composed of kaolinite with lower crestallinity and little of montmorillonite, illite and their mixlayer minerals.Fe and Ti contents are high.It is proposed that the material source of this deposit is melanic intermediate igneous rock, which underwent weathering, denudation, and transportation and deposition.Morever there were several transgressions during its deposition.
