Significance of Paleoproterozoic thermodynamic activity-traces on the tectonic boundary in North China protoplatform
|
Abstract:
Thermodynamic activity-traces acted as the regional metamorphic facies and its belts. In addition to load pressure, the lateral compresso-shearing stress plays an important role in the thermodynamic metamorphism. There is just the striking evidence that the penetrative schistosity exists everywhere in mountain making belts, which is formed by the parallel directive arrangement of syntectonic metamorphic mineral assemblage. During the opposite blocks moved inwards, a linear mobile belt, shortened to make mountain, was operated under the invertial reference system, and the lateral pressure decreased gradually effected by the bottom fractional force. Finally, when the opposite blocks collided with each other, the invertial reference system was thoroughly destroyed to enlarge the lateral pressure, and give rise to the low temperature-high pressure metapmorphic facies to exhibit the temperature lowering-pressure elevating tendency, which is one of the valuable indicators for the search of tectonic boundary.
