MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS-OF PHLOGOPITE-AMPHIBOLE-PYROXENITE MANTLE XENOLITHS INCLUDED IN THE ALKALI MAFIC-ULTRAMAFIC SUBVOLCANIC COMPLEX FROM LANGAO COUNTY,CHINA
|
Abstract:
The phlogopite-amphibole-pyroxenite mantle xenoliths, occurring in early Palaeozoic alkali mafic-ultramafic subvolcanic complex in Langao County on the northern margin of Yangtze Plate, are composed of clinopyroxene, amphibole, phlogopite, apatite and illmenite. The rocks of xenoliths usually have coarse-fine granulitic, slab-granulitic, triplepoints, cataclastic and kink band textures with strongly developed the metasomatic textures. The studies on the characteristics of rocks and of mineral compositions show that the phlogopite-amphibole-pyroxenite xenoliths are the product of mantle metasomatism and they possibly represent the source of alkali mafic-ultramafic subvolcanic complex in this area.
