Estimation of Surface Parameters from Polarimetric SIR-C Data

Abstract:
Surface parameters refer to the complex dielectric constants, moisture, surface rms height and coherent length, etc. This paper analysed the simplified one-step IEM Model, and estimated the backscattering coefficients, dielectric constants and surface roughness(rms height and coherent length) with the SIR-C L-band Polarimetric data for Xinjiang area. The surface parameters derived from polarimetric data can he used to analyse the forming courses, time and stages of alluvial fans.
