Starting from the research of the optical characteristics of terrain background,the method of multi-spectrum classification for terrain background using the multi-spectrum information of resource satellite and the technique of region separation for terrain background on the basis of the regiongrowing principle and the pyramid data structure is described in this article.It supplies the technic method for obtaining the region distributive characteristic and other optical parameters of terrain background throughout the country.
