GIST--A Geographic Information System Toolkit And Its Development

This paper describes the work about GIST (Geographic Information System Toolkit ), a GIS combining with an image processing system. As a part of the international cooperation project on remote sensing geology, mineral exploration and GIST development and application between China and the U.K.: the author, together with the collegues of SWK company in the U.K., has done a series of work of software developing work in the system's base structure and its use in Xinjiaing test area of China. The paper introduces the work indetail, including the structure and features of the system, then its practical use; finally, discusses some further issues.
