FORMATION AND EVOLUTION OF MANAS LAKE,XINJIANG
|
Abstract:
To combine the geological features shown in satellite image with other data, the author points out that the formation and evolution of Manas Lake were controlled by geological structures and climatic change, and influenced by human activities. The ancient lake basin was formed in the middle Pleistocene Kaketaibusuang ice age and began to sink in the late Pleistocene. In the Honocene it further faded and broken up, then perished.
