The Study of Improvement in Automatic Indexing by Statistical Analysis

Automatic indexing by statistical analysis is an important method in automatic indexing. On the basis of the principle that indexing words should reflect the subject of the document,the author gives some advice on determination of the resource of indexing, design of the words weight, adjustment of the words frequency,design and maintenance of post- controlled thesaurus. By means of these measures,the document can be better reflected and the retrieval efficiency can be improved.
