STUDY ON THE INTERNAL DATA FORMAT OF COMPUTERIZED SERIALS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The role and position of computerized serials management system in the integ- rated computerized management system of library is described Some basic functions of the serials management system are put foward. It is considered that the performance of these functions is dependent on the internal data format in the computer. The paper discussed data structure of serials management system emphatically, analyzed in detail the relationship between the functions and the record formats of cataloging, back serials and current serials files and made some comparison with reported references.
