The article analyzes the merits and demerits for the system of free term indexing.The organizing methods,using methods,and the effectives of post-co ntrolled thesaurus and inverted-file merged into an organic whole in the documen t retrieval system have been described in detail Finally,The further solution fo r the problems that the post-controlled thesaurus applied to the document retrie val system is discussed.
