Separating MARC with VB6 is the common technology to master in library technical staff. There is an issue with the technology, because length of full - width word defined is 1 in VB6, and 2 in MARC. There are two ways to restore length of full -width Chinese word in VB6. It is reproducing the length and the starting position of data fields, at last establishing a source program .
