The Development of the OAI-based Citation Database

The Open Archives Initiative(OAI) is a protocol to promote the interoperability between networked databases,which works through metadata harvesting.The low-barrier framework is relatively easy to implement,and as a result,it makes OAI very popular on today's Internet.The article introduces the main technical features of OAI,and analyses the principles and cases of the OAI-based citation databases,which have the citation lists hyper-linked automatically.
