The Development and Innovative Uses of OpenURL Research

Abstract:
As a dynamic linking technology,OpenURL is introduced and the main features are analysed,which has realized context-sensitive linking.The authors find that the ContextObject extensibility mechanism is introduced to version 1.0 of OpenURL and the content limitations are overcome so that more formats and ways are used to represent and encode the data.In the end,the authors analyze innovative uses of OpenURL at the scholarly communication and other fields,search engines and browser plug-ins and so on.
