The paper,after summing up the information searching methods and principles in the World Wide Web,gives two main methods of information searching:hypertext based and search engine based.It lays the stress on the technique specifications and characteristics of the search engines in the World Wide Web.Finally,it introduces the functions and the operating procedure of a well known search engine WebCrawler.
