Relationship Between Self-Esteem and Aggression Behaviors
|
Abstract:
The traditional opinion was that low self-esteem easily caused aggression. But they have been suspected recently. Some experiments proved that people with low self-esteem were likely to be bullied; Salmivalli and others thought that some ones with high self-esteem had aggressiveness, but others not; Bushman, Baumeister et al. considered that there was no relation between self-esteem and aggression, except for high correlation of narcissism and aggression. In general , at present, many conclusions all verified threatened egotism and heterogeneity of high self-esteem, although it is difficult to clear the relation between self-esteem and aggression.
