EFFECTS OF BICUCULLINE ON MEMORY FORMATION IN THE DAY-OLD CHICK FOLLOWING WEAKLY REINFORCED TRAINING
|
Abstract:
This study was designed to examine the role of the GABAergic system in modulation of memory formation of chicks following weakly reinforced training on a one-trial passive avoidance task. Results indicate:(1) memory formation in chicks is modulated by the GABAergic system;(2) although the GABAergic system directly modulates intermediate-term memory,it appears also to be crucial for the formation of long-term memory.
