Optimal Coordination of Artery System based on Modified Particle Swarm Algorithm
|
Abstract:
In order to reasonably control the artery system, the control parameters should be coordinatedly devised. The control parameters are optimized based hierarchical structure.First, using the modified Cell Transmission Model(CTM) and considering delay time of the platoon dispersion on exit lane, the traffic flow models on the ordinary, merging and diverging link on the artery system are developed respectively.Second, because common cycle cannot be optimized in current researches, the optimal solution cannot be attained on the artery system. So a new optimal control model with bi-level hierarchical structure is presented in this paper, based on the relations of control parameters and the connection of the offsets in each direction. At the first level, common cycle and two-way offsets are determined simultaneously in accordance with the traffic flows on the main road and secondary roads, which can make the delays of the artery system least. At the second level, the splits of each intersection are determined to make itself delays least.Third,to solve the new model,a modified particle swarm algorithm is presented by the changeable inertia factor on different stage. Finally, the new model and algorithm are used to optimize the artery system and the good results are obtained.
