An Analysis of China''s Economic Structural Change by a Relative Rowscaler Model
|
Abstract:
In order to measure economic structural change, and identify the sources of sectoral growth, a modified rowscaler model is constructed, which decomposes the structural change into average changes in technique and final demand coefficients on the basis of input-output techniques. Applied the model, a quantitative analysis is calculated to structural change in Chinese economy between 1981 and 1995. The results show that the structure had been changed significantly and changes in technique coefficients account for a large portion of sectoral growth, but the final demands become more and more important in the period.
