Generalized Assignment Heuristics for Vehicle Scheduling

In this paper, based on the analysis for characteristics of vehicle scheduling problems with time windows, an assignment heuristics is presented. In the algorithm the number of vehicles accomplishing tasks is estimated and two kinds of assignment cost are defined. An example is employed to show the effectiveness of the algorithm. Finally, the adaptability and further application of this method are discussed.
