Signal Detection Theory and Dichotomous Group Decision Making
|
Abstract:
In this paper, the Signal Detection Theory (SDT) is used to describe, analyse and solve the problems of dichotomous group decision making.A method for estimating the detectability index of ideal group, which has the highest achievable detection performance, is derived from the SDT.The relationship between group decision performance and three factors related to individuals is discussed. The three factors are (1) size of the group, (2) the detectability indices of the individual members, and (3)the correlation between members of group. A theorem that derives the relative weights is proposed, and a technique for assessing the relative weights given to each observers is also provided in this paper. The main contribution of this paper is combining group decision making with SDT, and a experimental model for studying group dicision making is shown.
