Designing a Supervisory Controller for Multi-scale Manufacturing Systems - A Max-Plus Algebraic Method
|
Abstract:
For multi-time-scale manufacturing systems have discrete and continuous events, the classical max-plus algebraic method can not model continuous events. A hybrid timed Petri nets was presented in this paper. By the construction of a novel dioid, the hybrid timed Petri nets based model was converted to a max-plus algebra based model. Based on the max-plus algebraic model, referring to automata theory and lattice theory, by the definitions of conjunctive and disjunctive functions, a supervisory controller was put forward. Therefore, the model and control for multi-time-scale manufacturing systems were continuously studied within the framework of max-plus algebra theory. The illustrative example shows the effectiveness of the max-plus algebraic method.
