The Measurement of Chinese Technical Efficiency:The Application of Stochastic Frontier Production Function

We use the stochastic frontier Cobb\|Douglas production function to analyze the Chinese technical efficiency on the basis of cross\|provinces since 1981. On the one side, The empirical result indicates that the Chinese average technical efficiency was increasing steadily in the past two decades. On the other side, we find that the east\|coast area's mean technical efficiency was more higher than middle area about fifteen percent or more higher than west area about one\|third.
