Empirical Study on Critical Success Factors for Electronic Commerce Systems in Chinese Publishing Industry

Abstract:
The study on the critical success factors(CSF) for electronic commerce systems has been a hot topic in both academe and industry.Firstly,this paper puts forward the hypothesis of success factors in electronic commerce(EC) of traditional companies.Then,it does the empirical study on Chinese publishing industry in order to verify the hypothesis.After testing validity and reliability of the sample data,this paper verifies the hypothesis with the method of correlation analysis and regression analysis,and finally identifies the factors impacting EC success such as leadership,strategy,organization,management,IT,and customer, comprehensive functions of website and customer-oriented functions.In addition,customers,strategy,IT and comprehensive functions of website are the critical factors impacting EC success.This research not only impels EC research in China,but also has instructional effect on the implementing EC for Chinese publishing enterprises to increase the success rate of EC.
